The collected materials covered the period from the Middle Ages to January 1835 when Colonel Bibikov, this preliminary information was systematized according to types of troops and, placed in chronological order from 1700 to June 1835, subsequently stitched into six books entitled "Description of the Clothing of the Russian Army" with subheadings of parts according to types of troops. «Историческое описание одежды и вооружения Российских войск с древнейших времён», составленное по высочайшему повелению: 1841—1862) Висковатов В.В. Начало работы над «Описанием…» относится к 1830 году, в царствование императора Николая Первого.
