Queens, N.Y., Nov. 15, 2012 -- Eric Phillipson, FEMA Planning Liaison, points to and reviews a disaster map with Alexander Romanov, Director of Federal-State Russian Airmobile Rescue Service, Moscow, during a tour of FEMA's DR-4085 Joint Field Office (JFO) in Queens, New York. Following the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy, FEMA coordinates its work in New York at the FEMA JFO in Queens and supports state, local, tribal and volunteer agencies in their disaster response activities. FEMA also welcomes the cooperation and assistance of international experts such as the Russian Airmobile Rescue Service who are familiar with disaster response techniques needed to assist communities in need of relief.
